Great Track!

Hey, I enjoyed this a lot. I wish there was more quality hardcore on this site like this track. Your kick drums were crunchy and pounding (I liked the variation in sound about halfway through, too) and the synth line was pretty unique. I would be interested to hear what the synth would sound like if you added some distortion to that as well. And the vocal samples were classic.

I had to take off one point for the snare, however. I understand that you need a rather high-pitched, treble-y sound to get it to stand out from the massive kick drum, but it seemed both too loud and too weak at the same time. There a lot of ways you could fix it, like adding some chorusing, reverb, delay, or any combination of the above to both thicken the sound and smooth out the mix. Or maybe you could just put a little more midrange on its eq, or matbe even some compression. A relatively minor complaint for an otherwise great track. -5

(If you like dark/hard/fast tech, feel free to check out some of my own work, by the way)

ty for all the feedback :D:D

Great!

That sample at the beginning really cracked me up, nice and cheesy. Your kickdrum sound is great, too, real thick and fat. I'm not sure what's going on in the last twenty seconds or so, it sounds like it's becoming a different song entirely, then it just fades out abruptly (this is the -1 point). Maybe you should expand on that last part (or even just fade it more gradually). Whatever, great production, dark vibe, good work. -5

Nice

I'm a pretty shit guitarist, so I can't comment on the more technical aspects of this, but I enjoyed this piece. I have to say I liked the first half a lot better, it had a cool western/desert kind of feel while the second half was a bit more typical rock. Your playing is great though, professional sounding but with a lot of feeling. -4

Trashy

I dig the blown out sound.

Lol thanks. I'm not worthy!

Not Bad

You're guitar and compositional skills are really good, but I would definitely add a bass guitar to this (even a synth one) and maybe add some room reverb to the drums. I'm not going to comment on the vocals as I hope they're supposed to be funny. -3

Jesus Christ!

Tune that bass!!!
Otherwise it was alright as a little jam on one of the most overused riffs in the world.

Edirol Passed the Test

I'm mostly going to limit my review to the first half of this song since I don't really consider myself qualified to review traditional techno (just not my thing), but as far as the structure of th piece as a whole, the contrast between the two parts was great and the overall mood of the melody stayed consistent over the two diverse styles, which is also a big plus.
I'm not familiar with Edirol, but the string section sounded very realistic. The instruments worked well off of each other and the melody gave it a really exciting, cinematic feel. Great work! -4

Great Work!

I have to preface by admitting I'm totally ignorant of the Beethoven piece (and most classical music for that matter), but I really enjoyed this. Your piano playing is excellent and it really holds the piece together as it changes. The drum programming was great, too (I'm sure this was NOT written by Beethoven), the only suggestion I would make is maybe to try fading the snare and hi-hat rolls in slightly.
I was caught completely off guard when the turntables came in at the end, but in a good way, it kept things exciting. Also I don't usually go for turntable samples, but that is because most people who use them select a single sample and repeat it endlessly while real record scratching is more loose and free-form, which is exactly how this sounded.
I agree with the other reviewer that some more dissonance and distortion would have worked for this piece, but as you have heard my own work you can correctly assume I'd say that for the majority of what I hear on NG.
All in all, the combination of classical melody, electronic beats, sound effects and turntables gave this a cool, surreal type feel. -5
